...that you trumpeted the notorious slogan. Even former DL apologists and ex-long term loyalists are using it now! "In November 2008 Delta Air Lines merged with TheFormerAirlineWhoseNameCannotBeSpoken (TFAWNCBS) to create America's Premier Global Airline with a leading presence in the world's major markets and a best-in-class * [5 image limit] loyalty program, SkyMiles. By the fall of 2009 Delta Air Lines SkyMiles and the former WorldPerks programs will be consolidated and the result will be the new Delta SkyMiles, with more than 74 million members, the largest and best-in-class loyalty program in the airline industry." Or... "We are committed to a best-in-class SkyMiles program that gives our most loyal customers the benefits they deserve. That's why we're keeping the benefits that mean the most to our Medallion members and adding others that surpass what any other airline offers," said Jeff Robertson, Delta's vice president of loyalty programs. "Features introduced in 2010 will provide SkyMiles Medallion members meaningful, unmatched benefits on flights to nearly 400 destinations across six continents." http://news.delta.com/index.php?s=43&item=746 Do you all like those "benefits...that surpass what any other airline offers"? I'm not sure what they are, but they sounded good only three years ago. And those "meaningful, unmatched benefits"...? Hmmm....are those; the incredible vanishing O bucket; the skyrocketing M fares; the "three-tier" redemption scheme; the elimination of voucher combinability; the doubling of Asia award levels overnight; the preservation of award inventory with the T-72 award change moratorium for all pax including DM; FCM on all major routes; or any of the other * best in class * revisions of SM since then? Wow, SM was already inferior to the program that cannot be named, but this partial list is a dirge. But Jeff's masterful execution is revealed because, even now, there appear to be some - a few - customers who really believe this. I suppose the scales will fall when they finally experience EOS, which could be any day now.
