    I did look on the Japanese Tourism Agency website...did not see anything on this.

    Maybe it's because currently it's still pending government budgetary approval and is only expected to start in April. But very exciting nonetheless :)

    Since the story already hit the local morning news here in the Bay Area, I'd expect chances to be pretty slim to actually win if the entire world is eligible to participate. But hey, there's nothing to lose, eh? :D

    hopefully they don't pick the winners based on their residences' proximity to Japan, just to save on the free airfares :D

    If they are smart, they choose winners based on the geographies they want to target (and where they see a significant drop of demand).
