Los Angeles Dinner, come join me & others for a delicious meal at Mariscos Chentes/Coni's Seafood.

Which, BTW, is a BYOB restaurant!

Mariscos is essentially Mexican seafood, everything from shrimp, lobster, fish, crab, mussels, and oysters. Items are either cooked, done in a ceviche style, etc.

I think this restaurant is small, so I'm going to cap the attendees at 10. I've got a local person checking on the size of the restaurant, if they can handle a larger group, I will advise.

    Sounds delicious!

I think you may have counted me twice (I count 4 uniques on FT).

Due to the small nature of this restaurant, a party of 10 is all they can take (which we now have), I will advise if we can open up other spaces

sorry for missing your post, I guess being on vaca when you posted & just getting back from another, has left me a bit scatterbrained.

I will let you know, the restaurant is small & I'm arranging for a special family style menu (in order to try many things) so adding more folks is difficult, normally my dinner Do's are unlimited in terms of attendees.

more than you can imagine, lots has to do with zoning laws (restaurant not allowed to sell alcohol if too close to a school or church). BYOB is a fantastic way to control costs of a meal while enjoying a drink(s), in fact just last night I brought a 12 pack & passed out beers to folks that attended the dinner in Chicago, even though the restaurant sold alcohol (obviously this scenario is not common)

    Sweet Willie,

I am looking for some feedback on a start up business idea that is focused on frequent fliers like you. If you can find some time from your schedule, please drop me a test mail on saranggaikwad@gmail.com and I will get back in touch.

    Thanks
    Sar

Sar, this year & last I will be doing very limited flying, so not really a frequent flyer. I'd reach out to other more prolific flyers.

I had to back out of the January dinner at the last minute, and have been kicking myself since, as I really wanted to try this place, and specifically the pescado zarandeado. I finally made it to Coni'Seafood tonight.

I'd read up on it extensively. Word on the street is that if Sergio is not in the kitchen, the snook is definitely not as good, and some say not even worth the trip. I called yesterday and found out that he wasn't there last night, and likely wouldn't be there tonight. On the drive over, I kept wavering... do I just try it, or skip it. I ended up trying it and... it was definitely good-to-very-good. Was it amazing? No. Worth it? Yes, I think so. I'm not rushing back, but I could see giving it another go in another year or so.

I dined alone, and made it through pretty much all of the snook myself!

Nice ! I have a feeling I would have done the same thing:)

What was nice about the evening we went is that one of the folks attending knew Sergio, so our group dined on about 5 other items before the snook came out.
