JAL has finally announced the new designs for JALCards featuring the new logo. It will look very similar to the regular JMB card. They will start sending out the new cards in October 2011

At least the colour difference between A-Club and A-Club going is more noticeable now. I wish they would give some better benefits for Gold card though.

Interesting that they now add a space between JAL and CARD. But even on the website, it is referred as JALCARD...did someone screw up the design?

Haha. That wouldn't surprise me. Maybe they realised they screwed up before as it should be two words and finally made the change.

They are now separating the two words...even their logo has a space in between now.

It's a good thing they fired the guy that cannot spell and replaced him with someone that can.

What would you say are the benefit(s) of Club-A vs. Club-A Gold? Is it worth the extra annual fee?

No waste of time. The SFC card will cover you for travellers insurance which is one of the main benefits of getting A-Club Gold so honestly don't get it however if you need a bigger credit limit, it might be worth considering. Unlike SFC, there's no extra bonuses or anything to motivate you to upgrade. Do you buy JAL Tours? If not again probably not worth considering.

*edit* looks like Visa and Mastercard are offering free delivery still for one luggage item from airports. More details here

I've considered upgrading but the 4,200 yen difference (taking into effect premium points surcharge) is just a waste of time. Plus additional card holders for JGC are same as main so that increases what you have to paid...I cannot justify it yet. I think KIXMan has one though.

I did consider it. If my business didn't rely so heavily on foreigners and rather was balanced with domestics then it would be okay but thus such is not life.
