You get ITM, FUK and CTS already, all on E70 and CRJ which aren't included in the JAL NEW SKY PROJECT :p

I hate leather seats to be honest. Makes me too sweaty. Other than that excited about the news.

The WiFi should be an interesting product. Using a Ku-band satellite solution similar to that in use on the long-haul service but this time managed and operated by Gogo.

Makes a lot of sense on domestic? ITM-HND is only 45 min... how long can we possibly use wifi?

You can draft your emails whilst doing the dodgy by using your phone whilst the plane is taking off then send them during the 10 min window when you can use wifi.

I don't think they are. Only 7 will be retrofitted. Looks more like the JAL fleet will be retrofitted and the JAS one will be left with the current W14 config

JAL has released more details on the revamped domestic service which is branded as JAL SKY NEXT. Other than the new seats and cabin announced earlier, JAL will also provide a free wi-fi based inflight entertainment service. You can watch sports, gourmet, music, anime and other plentiful video programs including SKY RURUBU (travel information), flight information and JAL website for free of charge. Though JAL might charge a fee for some of the video contents in the future.

Also the wi-fi service charges have been announced. There are options for a 30 minute plan and a flight plan for the duration of the flight. For the 30 minute plan, it will cost JPY 400. Otherwise, the unlimited flight plan will cost JPY 500 if you are using a smartphone, or JPY500, JPY 700, and JPY 1,200 for flights below 500 miles, between 451 and 650 miles and above 651 miles respectively if connected using a tablet or notebook.

JMB Diamond, JGC Premier, and JMB Sapphire members will receive free domestic wi-fi coupons. From May 2014, JMB members can redeem free wi-fi coupon using miles as well.

Didn't know there's an airport there :p Not to mention E170 is not part of the plan.

JPY500 is a good deal for smartphones. But if you are on a short flight like HND-ITM, the 30 minute option is probably a better one given you can't use wi-fi during takeoff and landing anyway. Too bad there's no daily or monthly plan for business people and connecting passengers.
