    http://press.jal.co.jp/en/release/201202/002028.html

JAL has released its mid-term management plan and confirmed earlier rumor of the new routes and new order. Below are the highlights

    1. NRT-SAN from Dec 2012 w/ 4 weekly service. Daily from March 2013
    2. NRT-HEL from Mar 2013 w/ 4 weekly service. Daily from some time in first half of FY2013
    3. Freq increase on NRT-DEL from Dec 2012
    4. Freq increase on NRT-SIN from Oct 28 2012 (announced earlier). All SIN flights will be switched to 787 service
    5. New seats on TYO-BKK flights
    6. Convert 10 787-8 orders to 787-9 and add 10 more 787-9 orders. SO total of 25 787-8, 20 787-9 and 20 options. Delivery of 787-9 starts in FY2015

I think those are the ones that will interest most people. Or you can go read the entire plan here: http://press.jal.co.jp/en/release/201202/002026.html

And I have a rather long "summary" here: http://jal-pak.blogspot.com/2012/02/jal-medium-term-business-plan-for.html

Schedules of the HEL and SAN flights can be found in a separate press release: http://press.jal.co.jp/en/release/201202/002028.html

OK, so they are going to make sure that F is available on all trunk routes on the 772 and then retire the 772. So they are going to dump F ?

so are they going to use NEO as the new regional and lower yield market C seats and full flat as the new C on premium routes currently served by 773?

I have no idea.......would make sense.....but NH could easily match by turning the cradle into a plank...just adjust the pitch to allow for more extension. I wonder if they won't eventually get the same seats as US/CX etc. in longhaul J. Their competitors(at least to Tokyo and it is only about Tokyo) use full flat already intra-asia !

don't remind me of my upcoming miserable redeye on CX regional J  :p

Even AA will use CX seats. But JAL said BETTER than competitors so maybe they will have something even better

did they say retiring JAS 777 and not all 777? Is that what the old 777s referring to?

i believe it says all 777-200 that flies between HND and ITM/FUK/CTS....technically can still have 777-200 without F

It is what both myself and JP said above........they are determined to get rid of any last vestige of that ill thought out merger with JAS....the MD90 will also be gone soon !

whatever they are planning...they need to get some airplane that can fly with the same capacity on ITM/FUK/CTS-HND runs...it makes no sense to get rid of the airplane

777-200 just refurbish them and keep using them until they fall into pieces

i thought u read the report :p they are switching to smaller aircrafts due to intensified competitions. They expect domestic market will be a lot different when LCCs start to grow in Japan

So what does this say then?

i think they are replacing them with 73H, 763 and maybe 787 (but sounds like they are using them on international flights for now)
