    JAL Expands International Network with New Services to San Diego and Helsinki
    American Airlines (AA), which is scheduled to codeshare on this route. Together with fellow alliance partner British Airways, who offers direct flights between London and San Diego, JAL’ new route is expected to further strengthen oneworld’s position in the market, enabling it to offer customers in California’s second largest city even greater convenience and benefits.

    Great news, and hopefully it's a solid flight. Surprised JL didn't look to SEA first though.

    This flight works out very well for my parents in SAN and considering it's on their Dreamliner, I might just have to make the trip down to make my next flight to Tokyo.... especially if they offer some award space.

    When BOS-NRT was announced by JL on the 787, award space was pretty open. Not a clear indicator, but at least a reason to be hopeful.

    But one can still hope that when the SAN dates are set that the availability will be like it was when BOS was announced. Or it might be the exact opposite. Guess we will see!

    Makes sense, tap into that military traffic going to Japan,Okinawa,Korea. I know when i flew back home in the 90's it took me 3 flights to get from Japan to San Diego. (At least they gave us free booze.)

    actually most of the BOS C awards are gone now. Open those in April/May are still wide open
