I don't know when it changed, but the little "Remember my AAdvantage number" checkbox actually stays checked automatically now. For such a small thing, that was pretty damn annoying. Yay! :)

I'd be happier if it would actually remember mine when I check it. :)

Agreed. I've very much enjoyed it staying checked, but I've been wondering if it will keep behaving that way. I guess it really is here to stay, so as you said, "Yay!"

I've gotten used to it being unchecked. I guess I'll have to try checking it again.

Part of my impetus for joining FT was to lodge a non-substantive complaint about the inability of AA.com to remember me, so I am quite pleased with this development.

I don't check it, since I manage two separate accounts--mine and my partners. Wish they had a good functionality for that!

Ever since I started using Norton's security to log on the check box has become a thing of the past. If this thread had not started there is no way I would have known about the irritant. [IMG]

  12. Ahh - a little thing that used to bug the heck out of me... the website is still temperamental about remembering me (I use firefox) but it is better than it used to before. Thank goodness.

You can get firefox to remember (that's what I do for both my username and password). Just have to edit one of the javascript files.

There's also roboform that's really cool as well

I don't know chrome, but it's quite possible that roboform works there as well (they do IE and Firefox, at the least)

    Cheers.

Until a couple of weeks ago, if I ticked the box, it would remember my number... but when the login page came up, my number was there but the box would be unchecked. If I logged in without re-checking the box, it would be forgotten the next time.

Now it also remembers that I want it to remember. Thumbs-up.

I use 1Password as a general password keeper and auto-login tool. Since I mostly use Safari on a Mac, I also use Auto Complete Always On to get Safari to auto-fill the AA number and password (it sets Safari to ignore the AA site's setting of "autocomplete" to false for their page). Since AA revamped their web site, I have to be more careful to get it to work: on aa.com, don't click the big "login" tab but instead click the small "login" at the top:

I'm happy about this "little thing" change, too. Now, I'd really like to see AA focus on some "big things," like ability to book partner awards online and ability to see placement on airport standby & upgrade list online.

What is silly is that the inability to leave the box checked was one of those "enhancements" that nobody wanted. We have had to live with it for several years. Finally, when they make this relatively simple change, everybody is happy. I'm more urinated off that we have had to put up with this so long.

I like that it will remember "show results by price & schedule" rather than defaulting to "schedule" each time.

Off topic, but my laptop runs 5-10 degrees cooler when I run chrome rather than firefox. Firefox did a better job of remembering passwords.
