    Your photos reminded me of our trip to Jordan three years ago. Awesome place. How did you travel around the country?

    We did our best to burn the children's inheritance by taking private taxis everywhere. ;)
    Seriously, I did not think there was any other convenient way to see the country.
    And the private taxis were not all that expensive.

    Part of the reason was my experience with the last TR post here at not being able to post >5 pictures/post.

    We got a car with a driver for a week. It wasn't very expensive either and quite convenient. In retrospect, I wouldn't mind driving myself next time (it didn't seem very difficult to navigate and traffic wasn't bad), but it was actually quite nice to be able to just look around and not have to focus on driving while trying to see stuff.

    Yeah, driving seemed to be fairly easy, but as you mention, you can't enjoy the scenery, specially on that winding King's Highway to Petra.
    Car with a driver, did you find him through google search or reference from another traveler?
