I basically signed up long time ago to take all the Beta builds of FireFox. As such last week got the FireFox 9 beta downloaded.

I've noticed a bug on milepoint when clicking on "Create Thread" the text entry field and tool bar are missing -- not showing up at all.

I can also report this to FireFox support.

Had to go over to Chrome to put in a few new threads.

Coincidentally the reply fields on Firefox 9 work just fine on the website.

Only issue creating a new thread :(

Just came to say the same thing about FF9...I'm on the beta list as well.

Different than the OP, if it helps the MP tech folks, while the OP is on a Mac, I'm on a PC.

Getting the same issue here on create thread ... fine with Chrome. I am currently running FF 9.01 (Beta? No idea - I think not).

    Posting a reply in unaffected.

Thanks for the reports and sorry to hear that this bug made it into the release FF9 build. I'm going to look into a way to alleviate this, not sure if there is a good way yet or not. Thanks.

I'm having the same issues with Firefox for Windows and the text fields in both starting a new thread and in starting a conversation. There's just no field there to insert text. I'm on version 9.0.1. Using an alternate browser for the time being.

Just downloaded 10.0 beta. Conversation box back. Suggest you give it a try.

Thanks for the heads up KyRoamer, good news. There is a patch for this that we will be applying, but are not able to apply yet. It is possible that FF10 will release before we are able to patch so great news that it fixes things.

I am using FireFox 9.0.1 GA release and I still cannot create threads. When I click "Create Thread" after entering a topic I get a pop-up with an error saying "Please enter a valid message". Problem is the message field entry box is completely missing.

Off to the IE to create topics on this forum for now. UGH, I hate IE.

Edit: oops, I basically just said the same thing as Tom911

I'm waiting for Firefox 10 to come out of beta. Hopefully that won't be much longer and they'll roll out 10 to everyone.

Yes, it was a bit frustrating to have to use IE to create a thread today.

My Firefox 10 beta works well except that it will not change suggested contribution on Kiva site. But if I click on it and then select open in another tab, it opens at zero contribution. Go figure.

Same issue here - looks like a javascript-error.

This came up in the javascript error-console:

Firefox 10 just became GA. Well, at least Firefox just told me I could update. So I did and now the create thread function appears to work! Finally....

The only negative I've heard of is it checks to see if add-ons are compatable, and if they're not you have to check 'manually' to see if the add on has been upgraded. For example and to keep this mileage related, the one for the Delta shopping mall doesn't work -- so no bonus miles for keeping it installed and active x number of days.

Firefox has always done this - at least since version 6, if not earlier. I don't use a lot of add-ons but during the upgrade last night to FF10 it checked and reported no problems.

Thanks for the heads up on the Delta shopping mall add-on. I haven't used it in the past but maybe installing it after FF10 will still give people enough time to earn the bonus miles.

I was quite glad to see FF get this release out gold. :) Thanks for posting that it had been released.
