I transferred MR points when they had the last bonus in June. Just booked 5 tix JFK-TLV on Air Berlin for 30K Avios OW each + ~$20 fees. Works out to just over 22K MR points for NY to Tel Aviv.

What about a Ultimate Rewards transfer bonus, has anyone heard of one of those happening? It's time for them to match AMEX.

I was referring to that UR has never offer any transfer bonus's and maybe it is time they would.

I've never seen a bonus for UR transfers. Don't hold your breath. :)

Good find... unfortunately I need my Starpoints more than anything right now, but its a good portent for a possible MR bonus, too.

I've flown on Air Berlin inside Europe only. It was a little tight, but otherwise a pretty standard airline. (i.e. It didn't feel like a LCC)

20% bonus on MR to Avios right now. Not enough for me to pull the trigger yet.

I've flown them intra-Europe (long and short hop) and TATL. All flights have been comfortable and service has been good.

The TATL was in Business, and it was great -- little separated "suites" with flat horizontal beds, great entertainment options, good food, nice wine. More similar to CX First* than to UA/AA Business Class. I was quite impressed!

*But not as roomy, and nothing I've seen beats Cathay Pacific service. Still, Air Berlin's International Business is more in that class than UA/AA Business Class is.

Thank you. I thought I would fly them next summer while in Europe, but the friend I will travel with wants to take the train. I guess I'll wait to get a chance to use them for a TATL flight. From what you wrote, I think it'll be a better experience.

Yeah--same here. I didn't pull during that 30 or 35% or whatever last spring and I'm kicking myself now.
