With passengers practically sitting in each other’s laps, an independent CDC would be all over the health consequences of sardine flying. This study suggests you are particularly at risk if you are within 2 rows of a sick person. Of course there could be 6 sick passengers on a flight, exposing 24 rows of passengers to being laid low. The longer the flight, it appears the greater the exposure risk.
