It may well be. However, I'm hoping we don't have an OMNI/PR here. One of those is more than enough.

    Let's keep MPT cesspool free!

This is the official place for everything off-topic on milepoint. We've discussed whether there will be a separate forum for politics and religion, and whether we will have a closed forum in addition to either of these. Please feel free to weigh in with your opinion. We promise to read and consider, but may not necessarily agree with everyone. :)

I vote No for a politics/religion forum. Such discussion often leads to elevated emotions and doesn't add much. Very few minds are ever changed.

There are other places to go if such discussions are important to you.

Another for no politics or religion-travel can cause enough controversy.

I vote no on a P/R forum. I hope that the closer sense of community that this new format fosters will promote more civility if Off Topic conversations wander in that direction.

Besides, "OffTopicLibs" and "OffTopicCons" just sounds stupid [IMG]

    Hell no, no PR
and no closed forums. Look at the results of some of the others.

Personally, I hope any topic is OK here and that this board won't be closely moderated (and that there won't feel there's a need to closely moderate it).

My few centavos. This is like a benevolent dictatorship, owned, ruled, and operated by others. The ruling junta wants a happy populace, welcomes, values, and invites input, and will let its subjects misbehave from time to time, but ultimately, is the judge, jury, and jailer. Most of us know the boundaries of civil society. Some of us don't. Some of us go over it from time to time, but generally are decent. If things need to get deleted from time to time, so be it. I hope this place doesn't need to invest in a huge RV lot, even though there are a glut of them on the auction market. And we know that the leader of junta is familiar with en masse RV operations. As for myself, I'm going to enjoy the ride, and if I crack that new bottle of Pisco open, I'll start a "posting while not entirely sober" thread.
