Is MilePoint Going to be yet Another Censored Forum like Flyertalk?

Discussion in 'Off Topic' started by Uncensored, Feb 24, 2011.  |  Print Topic

  1. So, do I have the right to the freedom of speech here on mile point and express my true opinions, or is it going to be yet another Flyertalk run by more egotistical moderators who long for imaginery power over random internet posters?

As anyone who has more brains than a stopcock in a meth lab is aware,
    bleeding self-censorship isn't worth a rat's arse.

I have a friend why buys lab rats. The rat itself is cheap, but then you need to pay for rat chow and someone to clean the cages, etc. The current project needed "fat" rats and he purchased a bunch of menopausal rats, who are cheap but pretty much do nothing but sit around all day and eat lots and lots of chow.

Freedom of speech exists only in a Democracy.

This is a benevolent dictatorship thus the "dictator" decides what he will allow speech-wise.

And that's as it should be IMO.

Folks want freedom of speech they are welcome to walk to the nearest street corner and holler their lungs out.

This is a privately owned IBB.

What would you like to say? If you give us an example we can see if it gets censored or not. :)

Agree. IMHO some level of moderation is needed on public forums. Oltherwise get threads of endless drivel (my bolding above)

That addresses the cost of rats, but I'm sure the process of the harvesting of said arse from each individual is certainly a costly proposition.

Not really, as you can easily get some sort of university to collect them as a part of training. [IMG]

Research is the leading cause of cancer in rats. Go figure.

Actually, all lab rats are born with cancer. There is a very specific diet which they feed to all rats in a control group, and that diet cures cancer.

Problem is, the scientists are all looking at it backwards- they think anything else they do causes cancer, and it never occurs to them to realize that it's their generic rat food which cures the disease.

All those years in the lab... WASTED. Now, if we can come up with some serious grant money..... I think there's a new strain of rats somewhere around Bali. Perhaps we should get a team together and go there and study this some more. At least 6 months.

You need to do comparison studies in at least three locations for it to be valid, so write the grant for Bali, HNL and the Isle of Capri. That's a good geographic spread.

And make sure the funding is coming from somewhere in Europe so that you can use that as another location for the office, just so that you can give the presentations there and be all pompous [IMG]

Looks like Google's adsense works really well in this thread. These are the three ads I was presented with:

Rat chow: Groupon ad for local eats
Benevolent Dictator: Visit Egypt with Egypt Air
Fat menopausal rats: weight-loss ad for menopause sufferers
