I have noticed that we all use our perspectives when we write here. I sometimes can tell it is an american perspective and sometimes a european one.
What do you think ? Is this a global site ?

Just browse through the airline forums and you will find a frequent flyer united nations council

Of course they are, but on every continent flyers have different needs and different things that matter to them. How do we combine them ?

And Randy has plan to launch international versions of the site and collaborate with other non-English sites too :)

"If people who are linked only by a common passion for travel, be it for business or simply pleasure, can reach out with a helping hand, there is indeed hope for the world community to come together in a common human experience of helping each other because that is the right thing to do"

Pretty sure it will depend on the forum itself. The BA board will have a very high percentage of Brits on it for example

While I acknowledge that much of the content may be US-centric, I do think it is an international forum. You end up using the bits that are relevant to you.

In particular I see strong German, Canadian and Australian presence thus far; I've noticed French and Austrian members, and I think I've seen New Zealanders, Scandinavians, Koreans, Japanese, and a random sampling of others. We even have people from the Independent Kingdom of Florida, with their raggedy passports.

Pretty good for the first week.

We have a more forward thinking terminology here. "Following", not "Stalking".

Of course, some people don't fill in all the minutia of their private details in their profile, and some even hide their profiles, so it's hard to know from whence everyone came.

    Or "threadkiller".
Someone did register with just symbols, no letters in the handle.

Good question. FT is a global site but with a strong focus on the Americans if you move anywhere outside of the airline specific forums. I am hoping MP will develop differently, but I don't think it will. So far it resembles FT when going out of the airline forums.

I suppose us non-US'ers must just be more dominant outside of our own forums[IMG]

Danish here, btw, there are at least 5-10 of us afaik and also Norwegians and Swedish - we idle in the SAS forum.

Another voice chiming in from Canada. (Fair disclosure: actually down in New England right now visiting my partner, but Canada is my permanent domicile and the place that I intend to spend my active retirement years!)
