    SPG Champion,

Is it possible for Platinums who failed to re-qualify (43/50 nights) to get some sort of stay challenge to not lose platinum status? The SPG platinum desk has only responded with canned emails, which I can only assume means either i am not being clear with my question or that the answer is no. Hopefully, someone can give me a simple yes/no answer.

Why I am asking this as I am scheduled to spend 3 nights / week over the next few months in houston on a new engagement and I can stay at either a specific marriott or a specific spg property.

Now I am not asking for a complimentary upgrade to platinum, but i am wondering if it is possible for some sort of stay challenge to keep my platinum status. I am currently booked out till 02/28 (will hit 20 nights) at the SPG property, but obviously if it isnt going to work then i can switch to the Marriott as it makes more sense as I am a LT Platinum with Marriott.

I am not hopeful for a positive answer, but if there is anything someone is aware of, I would really appreciate the insight.

    Hi ab3i,

The system is hard-wired to not allow anyone who's been Platinum within the past 5 years to participate in a Platinum challenge, so if you were Platinum last year, you could not participate.

However, if you like, you can send us your account information so we can verify your eligibility to participate.
