    Greetings:

Just wanted to make sure that I was reading rules correctly, but it appears that one cannot on a connection standby for a later flight without having to invoke something akin to "flat tire". Is this correct, or is it possible? TIA

I've done it on American. Having Elite status, I asked nicely and explain why at the Admirals Club and they did it with no charge.

I've had to do the "flat tire" each time or they want to charge a change fee....unless you can claim a weather-related incident. For example, just calling in this week and talking about the snow and inclement weather and I was able to rearrange a few times this week without charges, even though where I was and where I was going did not have any weather problems. But most of the year I have flat tires at very inopportune times :)
