    From today's Israeli newspaper, Ha'aretz:

The Israel Counter Terrorism Bureau issued a warning Friday morning to Israeli travelers in anticipation of threats resulting from the anniversary of the assassination of Hezbollah officials Imad Mughniyah and Abbas al-Masawi, both of which were allegedly perpetrated by Israel.
The bureau cautioned the Israeli public that because of the increased threat of terror attacks against Israelis abroad, travels certain destinations should be avoided, including Egypt, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Côte d'Ivoire, Mauritania and Venezuela.

That part about Georgia got me worried. I am flying into ATL on Friday. I am also planning on meeting five FTers and one Delta rep while I am there. Should I be worried about them planning on kidnapping or assassinating me?

You could only wish to be kidnapped by the "beautiful brunette" or any of the other lovely women in / around the ATL area. [IMG]

Don't be silly -- I am meeting the Beautiful Brunette in LAS. The two beautiful women I am meeting in Atlanta are both blondes.

Stay in the city and don't head north. Crazy folks in far northeast metro area.

FTers are probably fine, but the Delta rep is scary!

Sounds like you will need your own security detail in Georgia. If someone offers you peaches keep walking, do not make eye contact.

I heard that Dovster's request for 4 female security escorts was turned down by the Israeli defense ministry, because he didn't work hard enough in his kibbutz [IMG]

I think the thread title needs to be corrected:
Is Atlanta safe from an Israeli?

Then they have nothing to worry about!

Of course, the hidden question is, is Atlanta safe for a dirty old ex-New Yorker who still likes the Brooklyn Dodgers?

Is there any particular street I should avoid? Peachtree Lane? Peachtree Road? Peachtree Avenue? Peachtree Highway? Peachtree Blvd? Peachtree Cul-de-Sac?

Don't agree to watch or carry someone else's cornbread for them. If you see any cornbread left unattended at any time, report it to authorities.

Should I be suspicious of anyone who can speak English? It would seem to be a hint that they are not real Georgians and might be Arab terrorists.

If you are flying in ATL on Friday, your main concern will be the 20,000 all star cheerleaders plus fans that will be headed into the city that day. Cheersport, the largest cheerleading competition in the world, is February 19-20 at the Georgia World Congress Center. This has historically been the 2nd largest "convention" in Atlanta every year and typically has 70,000 spectators.

I'll be there coaching my special needs cheerleading team. By the way, we'll have 21 special needs teams competing as part of the 900+ teams in attendance.

    You've been warned.

I suddenly have the feeling that instead of being warned by the Israeli Counter Terrorism Bureau I should have been warned by my cardiologist.

If they kidnap you, we'll have to hold a yard sale to raise funds for your ransom.

As far as the other option - you might be pleasantly surprised as to how much one would enjoy an assassination attempt involving feathery weapons, silk handcuffs and/or a dose of mysterious substance called "KY Yours + Mine Kissable Sensation". [IMG]

By the way, Happy Valentine's Day! [IMG]

The Weather Gods seem to be confused about your activities with the ladies.

Your meetings with the blondes appear to be approved - the current updated forecast for Atlanta this weekend is: Mostly Sunny, High 74°F Low 52°F [IMG][IMG]

You may need to reconsider any planned outings with the BB, and stay indoors instead.

Yesterday, LAS forecast was - mostly sunny all week. [IMG]
Today it was changed and is now listed as:
Showers, High 59°F Low 39°F for Sun, Tue, Wed, Fri [IMG][IMG]
