How many days in Ireland?
Where to go and why?
@uggboy don't you live there?
What do you like to do? Ireland has lots to explore but in different "buckets". Dublin probably doesn't need more than a couple of days. You could spend at least a couple of weeks exploring other areas depending on how much you like being outdoors.
I am planning for a trip 4 years away
We (Mrs Willie & I and two buddies) did a southern coast of Ireland itinerary a number of years ago. Started in Shannon, drove Ring of Kerry, sea kayaked on the SW coast (Lough Hyne & the ocean https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lough_Hyne ), overnighted in Kinsale, Blarney Castle, Waterford Crystal, then onto Dublin for a couple days.
Sadly our North coast trip the following year had to be canceled (starting in Shannon, then planned going to Dooley, Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher, Falcon flying (forget where), Giant's Causeway, then onto Belfast for a couple days)
We all talk very fondly about our trip to Ireland, just wonderful.
Anywhere from a day to a lifetime could be worthwhile, depending on your interests and travel style.
