Maybe one of the resident tech gurus that have an Iphone can assist.....

I have an old Iphone 4 that is near death and the ringer and other sounds like keyboard clicks and alerts have gone dead. However, the phone's speaker still works since I can still play the Radio.

Is the main audio speaker that is used for the radio and the speakerphone the same hardware that is used to have the phone ring....? If this is so, then I guess I have some sort of software block of the ringer.

If someone can shed some light on this, it would be a great help....

    Thanks !!!

Assistive Touch did the deal... but I think that one of my volume buttons and also the lock button on top is zapped... neither work. The same for the switch for ring/vibrate on the side which also refuses to respond.

Still, its now better than it was before...

I need to get a new phone...

I still have 3G iPhone with IOS 3.1. Four going on five years of use and still going strong. Using the phone to get the free tethering for my iPad and the laptop.
