I would certainly consider buying one to add to the rest of my tech arsenal.

I read about that also on some other tech site. I'm too lazy to go look for the articles again but if I remember correctly the rumors say that it will go for about 200USD and also allow one to choose the carrier.

I think the iPhone 4 has just about the right size/form factor for me. I played with the HP Veer at last week's developer event in San Francisco and it's too small for effective use. Maybe if I was a woman and wanted to carry around a small purse, it could work okay for me.

iPhone4 is just the right size. Anything smaller would make the mobile internet functions quite useless.

I agree with Rambuster, a display smaller than the iPhones would be detrimental to app usability.

No interest for a phone smaller than iPhone, I guess there's a market for a iPhone nano - people who don't want to do a lot or any web and basically want a phone with music.

It is rumoured to have an edge to edge display, so maybe the screen isn't all that much smaller. How a lack of a bezel interferes remains to be seen.

I love my iPhone 4; I just would prefer a smaller phone for my vacation. I travel with an iPad anyway, so I can use that for most of the 'net stuff

iPhone Mini / Nano is rumoured to Have No Internal Storage and will rely entirely on Cloud-based content to cut down on the size and weight. I am not sure how this will work but no doubt we will find out. [IMG]

I wouldn't want to assume that was a sexist comment as I'm a new user and want to be nice on first day. [IMG] Do you mean that because women tend to travel with more 'stuff' than men that they might want a smaller phone to reduce the bulk?

There is a huge opportunity for Apple in places like India, Indonesia, etc where most phones have no contracts and people buy prepaid minutes. I have read that that market is much bigger than the one Apple currently participate in now.

No, just an observation that men tend to carry their cellphones on their belt or in their pant pockets while women carry them in a purse. It's also my observation that men's clothing tends to have more and often bigger pockets compared to women's clothing. And if you want a small purse, you obviously need the stuff in it to be relatively small. My wife carries around a backpack most of the time and is perfectly happy with the giant Sprint EVO (4.3 inch screen), but there are occasions where she just wants her small purse and the EVO then fills up half of it.

It is a big market, but a $200 iPhone is still a significant expense for many in India. Still, it's a very popular status symbol among those who can afford it.

HMWT, just teasing! But, this is *definitely* true about women's travel clothing. Half the time I can't get my little paws into my own pockets!

I just want a lighter phone in my pocket when I am traveling. Presently, I leave my iPhone 4 at home and take a really small compact Nokia (that has no features). I want that size in a smart phone

I agree. $200 is a large investment. However, the population is huge and a lot of people are upwardly mobile. Also, $200 is a lot less than the $1000 I paid for a no contract iPhone 4

I think that's quite unlikely. Download angry birds each time I want to play? With a 200 Meg data plan and AT&T's crappy coverage?

Well, I just used it as an example. Fortunately I overcame that particular addiction several months ago.

Who says it will have apps? Might just be a Nano with a phone in it.
