I have searched but unable to find a suitable Ipad and Iphone wall charger that charges the Iphone and Ipad at their respective voltage at the same time. I've found chargers that have many USB ports but do not have the required amps for the Ipad so it just charges slower. On the other hand, I've found chargers that charge the required amps for the Ipad but only have one port.

Anyone know of any I've missed?

Haven't been looking as the iPad charger is so fast that it takes care of my needs.

I bring only one charger (the iPad supercharger) with me when traveling. I charge the iPad to 100% in about an hour after arriving at my hotel, then turn it to airplane mode and keep my iPhone plugged in over night. That puts them both at 100% in the AMs

I inquired about this very thing when I purchased my iPad and was told that, because their voltage is different, there was no universal charger for these two products.

Huh? Aren't they both 5V -- as that is what USB ports output?

Most USB outputs are 5w not 10w which is what the Ipad requires for fastest charge. 5w charging is fine but very slow for obvious reasons.

The Ipad charger is 10w I believe and the Iphone charger is 5w. Something like that unless I am mistaken.

Here is an article explaining... it involves the voltage needed to power each device.

"Apple ships the same cables/cords with the iPod Touch, iPad, and iPhone. But, isn’t there always a but? The difference is in the voltage needed to power each"

There`s got to be a demand for such a device so hopefully some company goes out and makes one!

You can charge the iPhone with the iPad charger. So is it really so difficult to make an iPad charger with two USB outs?

But really, it's not a problem in practice for me. I just travel with one iPad charger (and ifi have a rental car, a tiny car adapter).
