Found this by accident. If you put your thumbs in the middle of your iPad on screen keyboard and pull thumbs apart, it will split the keyboard in half and will feel like you're texting from phone,

I guess that's nice but I don't get why I would want to split it and make it go to a smaller keyboard

I can't see myself using it this way much, but it would be useful when grasping the iPad with two hands and only having your thumbs available to type (like holding a game controller). I just tried it and was able to easily reach all the keys comfortable when holding it with two hands. I might try using it that way in some applications to see if I like it.

OK I guess I can see that making sense for that type of application. Thanks.

Only in iOS5? Doesn't seem to work on mine (still not upgraded)

I don't find this feature quite useful for me as I usually type with one hand. Although, I find others who really like it and told me that they found typing to be easier. In any case, I think it's a pretty cool feature and I always show it off to others who haven't upgraded to iOS 5 ;)

You can also activate/deactivate the split keyboard, hold the show/hide button at the bottom right of the keyboard until the new options activate. These include Undock and Split.

Also iOS 5 supports four or five fingers navigation on iPad only:
    - Pinch to the home screen.
    - Swipe up to reveal the App Switcher (multitasking) tray.
    - Swipe left or right to switch between apps.
