So Santa, aka work, gave me an iPad. It's much more operational than a gift, but that's semantics. I go up to Canada quite a bit and was thinking of getting data service on my iPad. Does anyone know if any of the three carriers support free wifi tethering? I'd like to use my phone while only paying for the data on the iPad.

    Thanks,

  2. I doubt it. The Canadain telcos are as crooked as all the others when it comes to roaming charges. But if you are in a free wi fi zone of course they can't grab your money and there are plenty of those around.

There's an easy way to find out -- check with who ever you're paying for coverage.
