Had a BOGO I needed to burn so have a weekend booked in May at this property.

How is the location of this property? Seems to be well positioned to walk to locations.

3 miles from BOS yet no shuttle[IMG]

It might be my first stay as an RA so I'm really looking forward to it.

Decent property - I had a nice upgrade to a large room as Ambassador, and a colleague who also Ambassador got a huge suite. Pretty isolated down by the waterfront - close to the convention center, but a bit of a hike to the Common/Downtown areas. The trip from the airport on the Silver Line is actually very easy, drops you off a block or two from the hotel.

thanks for this, I was looking for transportation other than a cab/shuttle. Looks like one takes the Silver Line to South Station which is about 1000' from the Boston IC.

Their French restaurant Miel is very good. I've always been treated very well at this property. I'm an RA and have always been upgraded to a large suite.

This is correct. The Silver Line twists you around a couple times and I was fairly disoriented when I came up out of the station, but IIRC I could see the IC sign from the corner. The Silver Line is easy to find at BOS as it is well sign-posted from the terminals. I'm blanking, but I think I bought my fare from a machine that was close to the stop.

BTW - the Silver Line is actually a bus that runs - mostly - on a dedicated right of way.

Meil is indeed good, and the bar was hopping and quite lively during my stay.

We're booked in here for 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend using SD nights.

Although I've asked some more general questions on the "Is Amb worth it?" thread, there's one property-specific question I thought was worth leaving off that post, and asking separately over here:

It seems that it may be possible to buy exec lounge access for a reduced rate at IC Boston if we are Amb, but it doesn't seem clear. So:

    - does anyone know if the reduced access for Amb (not RA - we won't have this!) is currently in force, and if so how much it costs?
    - I gather it's for two adults. Would they be charge us extra for bringing our 4 year old down to breakfast with us? IME, under-5s are usually given a bit of slack in this respect - but I don't know what to expect here, and would prefer to know if it would cost us for her, and how much.
    - is the exec lounge open at weekends? And what about Memorial Day?

Thanks in advance for any light folks can shed on this!

I must confess, we didn't even try to find the lounge during our stay at the end of May  - it was a weekend of late lie-ins and leisurely brunches with our Boston friends...

Very good first-time Amb experience, though. We got upgraded to a VERY nice suite (we dropped our bags mid-morning, and they were good enough to ask if we didn't mind waiting for a nicer room than the one they had currently allocated as the elite in there wanted to make the most of their late checkout - as we were hanging out with friends for the trip, this was totally fine with us).

Water taxi from BOS to the hotel was a great way to start our time there - recommended.

In my opinion, the IC Boston is the BEST IC in the world. I've been to 40 properties!!! Plus, the lounge there is awesome!!!

My sister and I stayed here this past winter and it was great. Easy access from BOS via the Sliver Line to South Station. Very comfortable and spacious room.

    well now you tell me;)

My stay was much less than satisfactory, I was very underwhelmed, many perks not recognized, hotel agreed with my concerns and placed a fair number of PC points into my account. Shame as I really wanted to like this property.

My stay over a year ago was indeed also less then satisfactory. Hotel was empty, at least it seamed to me. I booked my room via FHR, however my benefits were not explained to me. When asked for an upgrade, was denied stating the hotel is 100% occupied:rolleyes: My rate did include breakfast and $100 food and beverage credit. The breakfast was very good, however when one day ordered from the menu, it took almost 40 minutes to receive my meal:mad: Made a reservation for dinner one night, just to find myself eating alone on a Sat night ( and that was at the property 100% occupied) My dinner meal was less the satisfactory and definitely not worth the price. The service was also extremely slow even though I was there by myself.
The room I was in was very warn out with extremely uncomfortable mattress.
Overall the value for the money i have paid it was fine, however more likely I will not return to this property once in the Baltimore area.

What is your Priority Club status?

    RA Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes, I was immediately welcomed, bell man was very friendly, took bags and got valet ticket for us, asked if we had been here before, and walked us the front desk for immediate check in. Desk clerk was friendly and quickly checked ID and informed us as an RA that we had been upgraded to the Ambassador suite (room #1241), and asked if I had my free weekend night certificate, which I handed over, as she was making the key I noticed she put back the black keys and got us white keys (which later I noticed say Club intercontinental on them). She handed over the keys and room number and said we were all set and waved the bellman to escort us to the suite. Bellman was very chatty and we told him it was anniversary and we were getting away for the weekend etc… He said “1241, if that’s anything like 1141 your hit the jackpot, that’s a great room”. After arrival he showed us the room put our luggage in the bedroom on the racks, and asked if we needed anything else, tipped him and he left. About ten minutes after arrival the door bell rings and a gentleman says he’s the butler and will be stocking the fridge and getting us anything we may need. He brought in an assortment of milk, skim, and half/half for coffee, laid out coffee cups next to the keurig in the kitchen and some other snack plates, with silver and napkins. Showed us all the features of the room, explained the Spa, and pool times, the club lounge and pointed out the welcome fruit and water he brought up earlier. He asked us to call him if we need anything. Everyone was super friendly.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked King club room, Ambassador weekend Cert rate ($344) got the Ambassador suite(1241), and club access. This is 4 or 5 level upgrade, (King club, junior suite, junior waterfront, executive suite, superior suite, ambassador suite) Ambassador suite listed for $2992.00 the night we stayed.

    How are the rooms?

Room was Very large, had double door entry into large marble tiled foyer, Half bath to the left, kitchenette to the right, door to adjoining room next to kitchen, Straight ahead to the large dining living area. Dining Table for 6, desk in the corner, sitting area to the left two large couches and two chairs, 48” flat screen TV, lots of floor to ceiling windows with great views of the harbor., Bedroom was Clean, neat, nice bedding, extra pillows, & another 48 LCD TV, very large bath, rainfall shower, full soaking tub, two separate vanities (his and hers) separate toilet room. Heated towel rack. Room was on the top hotel floor and was directly across from the club lounge.

    What was your welcome gift?

    No welcome gift.

Did you receive fruit in the room?

YES, Orange, apple, pear and bunch of grapes on a plate with, a large bottle of Fiji Water, along with a welcome letter, which clearly outlined your Ambassador , free movie, free Internet, mini bar drinks and health club access. Another letter outlined the club lounge with hours, etc..

    How is the exec. lounge?

I really liked this lounge it was very large and tables spread out, they could put in a few more tables, but the lounge was empty most of the weekend. Lounge has a few sitting areas including a fireplace and computer for guest use.. During the day coffee, espresso machine, teas and fridge with soft drinks and assorted waters, and snack foods, chips, trail mix, power bars etc.. are available. The food in the evening were very nice, a couple hot appetizers and fruit cheese, crackers, bruschetta, help yourself wine, coffee, espresso, and beer that the attendant gets for you.. A full hot breakfast eggs, bacon, sausage, breads, bagels, lox’s and assorted cheese’s cereal, juices, etc..,The attendant was different each time we went the lounge, seemed like they drew the short straw and got stuck with lounge duty, not very enthusiastic about being there, slow to clear plates, or offer assistance.

    What was good?

    * The view was nice, the suite was huge, Listed as 2200 square feet.
    * Free lounge access for RA
    * Free internet for RA
    * Got free movie.
    * Free Mini bar and a fully stocked full size fridge.

    What was bad?

Nothing really big, except valet parking @ $40.00, per day
The bed isn’t as comfortable as other IC’s we’ve stayed at, not sure what it was, just didn’t feel right.
They advertise that they have L'Occitane bath amenities, but they really have Gilchrist&Soames. We tried to ask the maid about L'Occitane, if they had any (my wife loves them) she just smiled shook her head yes but never brought any.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?

Not bad total under $500 for a full weekend getaway in super large suite. And should get about 11,500 points.( 2000 stay, 1000 RA, 2000 one IC bonus, 6500 points for “brand multiplier”)

    Would you return?

    Yes.

    Room Pictures are here.

I'm confused. Did you mistakenly write Baltimore instead of Boston or did you post on the wrong thread? I like Boston more than Baltimore. Baltimore was very helpful receiving some large packages for me before I arrived though and having them waiting in my room and not adding a service charge for it.

Just checked into the IC Boston, And was informed the club lounge is temporarily closed of renovations. The agent say "not sure if they notified you the club lounge is closed but, we put together a envelope with rumba lounge coupons for you". it included 4 free drinks, 3 appetizers, and 4 full breakfast coupons. They said lounge should be opened again in late Feb. She said they choose now the low occupancy season for the renovations.

Just completed another nice stay at the IC Boston, over thanksgiving weekend. Used my Amb. weekend cert. Was upgraded to the Ambassador suite again this year. Room #1141. everything about the stay was very good. I did notice a couple differences over the last few years. The hotel it's self is much busier then in years past. They seem to be doing well. The staff is super friendly, bellman who I've seen before on past visit Humberto, seemed to recognize us (we only visit about twice a year) and was super friendly, helped us to the room gave us the tour, took us to the lounge and explained everything and was just super friendly. The welcome fruit was just 3 apples, and the full size fridge in the suite is no longer stocked, except for little milk pitchers for the coffee, which were already there when we arrived. The hotel also no longer offers Pay movies on the TV, so the free ambassador movie was not to be had. Not sure if this is wide spread but this is the second IC stay where they no longer had movies at the hotel

Also a tip if your driving into Boston to stay at the IC, they charge $44.00 per night for parking.
Directly across the street from the hotel you can park for $26.00 per day. I've parked here the last
couple times I visited. It's a very nice underground lot, super clean/safe, well lite, open 24 hrs. and close by.
After parking exit the lot via the Oliver street elevator, and your a short (less then 1 block walk to the hotel).
Takes like 5 minutes.(path highlighted in picture) The lot entrance is at 115 Purchase street the ramp is right before the Boston FD.
