    Lightning strikes of planes are fairly common. I've been on a handful of flights over the years which have been struck by lightning, and it's usually not a big deal (though it can be loud). However, all of those lightning strikes were mid-air, so you couldn't actually see them. However, YouTube user Jack Perkins captured an incredible video of a Delta 737 being struck by lightning while on the taxiway at Atlanta Airport. Here's the video description: "While filming the line of planes all stacked up during a ground hold in Atlanta on 8/18/15 I happened to capture this direct lightning strike on a 737."
