Indian tribe buying two St. Paul hotels

    Local media are reporting that the Objibwe (American Indian) Tribe is purchasing two downtown St. Paul hotels: the Doubletree and the Crown Plaza. Together these two properties represent about half of the downtown hotel space. Both hotels will be managed by Graves Hospitality. The tribe says that it wants to diversity its holdings away from casinos and this was a good time to purchase the hotels.

    I'm curious, did the article state anything about the hotels not having to pay taxes now that they are owned by Native Americans?
