3 folks in a 762 bathroom? I'd imagine they got stuck and couldn't get out, so that's probably what happened. :)

Some people are so stupid...how could they possibly think that'd be a good idea today of all days?

You could pull this off in the center J lav.

I've studied it carefully...and think I saw it on an old UA 767 transcon before PS.

Most people have the "lack of common sense" upon entering the Airports... Can I just nominate these people shmucks of the day?

Was at JFK today and the security line was insanely long, never seen it like that before.

    Ha!

Obviously I'm sheltered and need to get with the program. My airline-oriented being has "studied carefully" a lot of carrier trivia, but never how many people can fit into a bathroom. LOL.

They have a bouncer outside the f shower rooms on ek...ostensibly to ensure your privacy and to clean up when you're done...but it also cuts down on any immoral behavior. You could probably fit half the f pax in there...maybe they'd give you an extra water allotment???

The latest news story implies they simply made too many trips to the loo, and spent too much time in there, and someone got suspicious.
So, if the crew and airline did not perceive a threat or call for security, what happened? Some paranoid passenger called 911 on his/her cell phone while the plane was in flight?

Gargoyle, I suppose that is possible, but as I read the story it may have been (see last paragraph of appended text from the A.P.) that there is a fine line between perceiving a security threat (which AA says the crew did not) and mentioning a "concern" on the radio to the airline and when the feds found out about it they scrambled the jets just to be sure. Good thing none of the customers saw the escorting fighters -- that could have sent MORE passengers to the loo after they crapped in their pants!

Here's a portion of the A.P. story, which you may have already seen:

"On the American Airlines flight, the passengers made repeated trips to the bathroom and some thought they were using hand signals to communicate, the law enforcement official said. The official was not authorized to speak publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. Two of the men were Israeli and one was Russian, the official said, adding that they were cleared and sent on their way.
"Initial reports said the men had locked themselves in the bathroom but the official said that turned out to be erroneous.
    . . .
"The jets intercepted the flight about 100 miles west of New York and shadowed it until it landed, said John Cornelio, spokesman for the North American Aerospace Defense Command. He described the measure as precautionary.
"A 'security concern' was brought to the airline's attention, the crew used 'normal procedures' to assess the circumstances and the plane landed as planned, according to the airline spokesman (Tim) Smith."

Bottom line, they probably all ate bad Mexican food at LAX and their intestines kicked in somewhere over South Dakota.

    Earth to stunt man: "Hellooooo?"

It's Sept. 11 and you leave your vehicle unattended outside the terminal with weapons inside??? There hopefully was another side of the story. Otherwise this guy's first name must have been "Stu." Last name "Pidd."

    From myfoxny.com:

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport's Terminal B was partially locked down Sunday after a Discovery Channel stuntman left his vehicle, with weapons inside, unattended outside the terminal, myFOXdfw.com reported.
FBI official Kevin Gentry said the driver was a crew member of the Discovery Channel reality series "Sons of Guns" and was waiting for another member of the show's crew. The driver told authorities they were on their way to El Paso, Texas, to film the show.
The airport reopened the terminal and allowed traffic to resume.

A couple of years ago my friend and his girl decided it'd be a good idea to have "take out clams" (WTF?) on the last day of their vacation in San Diego. He said on the flight back to EWR the following day they were in the bathroom for most of the flight. :)

Saw a report that a Frontier flight was pulled aside for "security concerns" for a couple engaged in Mile High Club activities on a flight yesterday. And another flight concern because someone used the loo twice on the flight.

TSA: protecting us from Mr. Hankey. :p

The TSA is probably going to mandate CCTV video feeds to observe activity inside the toilets.

And after you got out of jail, which has its own version of the not-so-mile-high club, the airlines could charge a fee for a copy of the keepsake video. Cool revenue idea.

Or they could create a subscription only live-feed video website; you have to check a box claiming you are in law enforcement and are over the age of 18, and then you get unlimited monthly access. That would be an even bigger revenue source.
