Is there a way to tell when booking if your planes have wifi? Both US & DL display symbols indicating wifi on flights but I don't see that on AA

No. Not at booking. AA releases this information 24 hours from departure because they know which planes will be assigned to a given flight, and can determine which have WiFi. There's a WiFi Widget you can download, or you can just check your reservation.

There's the wifi widget, but it only works 24 hours ahead of time: LINK.

Here's the AA press release about roll out. Many MD80s have it, etc.... LINK.

Yep. The exact planes they're looking to get rid of (I know, I know, several years...). :)
