    Last October, American and US Airways rolled out the combined 2015 frequent flyer program, most of the changes were positive and the changes had minimal impact on American Airlines elites. One of the new benefits announced for AAdvantage Executive Platinum elites was the ability to same-day confirm onto a new flight free of charge. Previously, only same-day standby was free and same-day confirmed came with a $75 price tag. A fee which I, unfortunately, paid twice last year. To same-day confirm your flight you may do so beginning 24 hours prior to departure and the flight must leave on the same day that your original flight was scheduled to depart. You can only move to a new flight 24hours prior to its departure time. For example, if your desired flight is at 4pm, you can only choose that flight at 4pm the day before, not anytime earlier than that. According to members of the American EXP group on Facebook, the new benefit is already available to EXPs. The fee for using this benefit is only waived for Executive Platinum elites, Platinum and Gold elites will continue to have to pay the $75 fee. When American announced the benefit in October [...]
