Southwest Airlines chief commercial officer Bob Jordan told Bloomberg News in an interview that the carrier plans to revamp its schedules at Atlanta to make them more attractive to business travelers, starting in November. The company plans to spread out its ATL departures, with more flights leaving at prime hours preferred by business travelers, he said, citing the example of ATL-Kansas City, where Southwest’s Atlanta departure times will shift from the current 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. to a more business-friendly 8 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. Jordan told Bloomberg Southwest expects the changes can help it gain some traffic from Delta, which controls 66 percent of the passenger market at Atlanta.
