    When I asked Continental's voice response system to transfer me to an agent to get a LH confirmation number, I ended up in a loop:

    I'm sorry I'm having some technical difficulties...

    It repeated this non-stop over and over again. To see what would happen, I put it on speaker phone and continued on with my work. After two minutes, it said something like
    I am sorry, I have difficulties understanding you
    (I hadn't said anything)
    Then it started asking me questions about my upcoming flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico... except that I don't have a flight to San Juan booked or planned. Asking again for an agent, I was finally transferred, but the system had lost all the information I had previously provided (the PNR).

    If your elite try this number 1-866-354-8326, had the same trouble some time ago, then was given this number for CO

    I got a strange one yesterday. Called Staples (a large office supply store chain) and got a message that said "We are sorry, but due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to close our call center".
