I'm feeling nostalgic for the old days of simple DOs, not these MegaDos.

There was a time that the biggest decision about attending a DO was if you were going to buy a ticket (of course) or cash in your miles to attend.

The next biggest decision was pay for a room or use your points.

The last decision had to do with meals and events.

Some DOs have cheap events, while others will cost you. For example: The BRT (Brooklyn Reality Tour) has cheap and expensive events. There are other examples if you read the Community forum here and on Flyertalk.

Along comes MegaDo. If you've been reading about the cost to attend this event, you know it's not cheap.
The cute days of inexpensive DOs have morphed into multi thousand dollar events.
Since when did online travel forums go upscale?

If you can afford it, great. If you can't afford it, and still want to get in on all the fun, check out the Community forum. If you can't find an event locally, then create one yourself.

My last bit of advice... don't spend money that you don't have.

But there are still "regular" Dos all the time, no?

I'm not a mega do kind of shark. In fact, 24 is my limit (give or take a dozen ;) )

Why no one has hired you for a cable finance show is beyond me! ;)
