So the gf insist on flying standby for our upcoming trip despite the fact that it's spring break and flights to anywhere warm are pretty full. While I appreciate her trying to keep $$ in my pockets this is a bad time to fly D3 and I'd like us to fly together at least on the longer leg of the trip (I'm confirmed). Can one of you kind folks please use one of your many tools to check main cabin seat availability on the following flights?

    Thanks a million!!

ExpertFlyer has free trials, so you could always sign up for one and grab this quickly, too. :)

Right. By proofreading carefully, you'd have caught that the "kink" was missing a "y" at the end and corrected the error (still time to edit your post). :)

D3 would be the registered companion or family members of the AA employee. Employees get a limited # of D1 (highest priority stand-by), normally have D2 priority and their companions/family travelling alone get D3 (lowest).

D1s are accommodated AFTER revenue passengers, but before D2 who come before D3s.

Since the OP is travelling confirmed (revenue), the GF is 'alone' and thus has D3 priority.

Travelling D3 at peak time is like playing the lottery. Sure we all hear that SOMEBODY might win it, but YOUR personal odds make it almost certain that you're just going to lose the $1.

Thanks all....She got pretty lucky on the outbound SFO-MIA-SJU flights, BUT not so good on the return trip. She ended up going SJU-JFK-SFO with the last leg on VX. Actually she's scheduled to get in only three hrs behind me AND all my upgrades cleared SJU-MIA-LAX(772)-SFO and I got to keep them! I'd be single now if I sat up front and left her in back :D
