Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Kowloon East, the first ever upscale hotel in Tseung Kwan O, was opened alongside the PopCorn shopping complex in Tseung Kwan O.
All of its 359 rooms, including 43 Club Rooms and five Club Suites, are framed by floor to ceiling windows and offer views of the city. A glass wall between the bathroom and bedroom also allows for a flood of natural light into the bathroom. All rooms enjoy bathrooms with bathtubs and separate glass-enclosed rain shower cubicle. An abstract vanity artwork printed on special finish mirror hangs behind the bed to create an artistic touch to the room. Room size ranges from 322 square feet to 968 square feet with a ceiling height of 2.85 meters.
The rooms also make use of dark wood and glass matched with clean-cut lines and contemporary furnishings in earth tone colors, and are equipped with such facilities as a 40 inch high-definition Sharp LED TV, iHome docking station with Bluetooth speaker, alarm clock and radio, ergonomic desk chair by Herman Miller, Simmons mattress, RFID door lock, high-speed wireless Internet and an in-room safe in the bedside cabinet.
Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Kowloon East offers 25,833 square feet of event space which includes 11 meeting rooms which is able to accommodate 1,600 guests for a sit down banquet and 2,000 guests for receptions.
One of the hotel’s key features is the Grand Ballroom, one of the largest in Hong Kong with a 6.75-meter tall high ceiling and over 10,763 square feet of pillar-less space for up to 1,000 people at a sit down gala dinner or wedding. It features built-in LCD projectors with multiple drop-down large-format screens, a cloak room and three en-suite VIP rooms. A pre-function area with floor to ceiling bay windows on one side also leads to the outdoor patio, ideal for a tea and coffee break.
There are contemporary suspended ceiling sculptures made up of individual pieces of clear and amber blown glass which can transform the ambience of the room with its seven color lighting effects.
Diamond Rooms are venues for smaller group meetings – eight meeting rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows offering natural daylight, and three of the meeting rooms can be extended to an outdoor patio. An outdoor garden with designated walkway and direct lift access from meeting rooms to the venue make way for a grand entry for VIPs or celebrities. This is surrounded by greenery.
Also in the pipeline is a line up of four restaurants and bars serving international cuisine and local flavors.
The roof-top Italian alfresco dining restaurant and bar, Cielo, boasts a view overlooking Junk Bay. The contemporary Tze Yuet Heen Cantonese restaurant serves dim sum and authentic Chinese. All day dining restaurant, The Chef’s Table is where interactive show kitchens and live cooking stations serve up international and local flavors. Meanwhile, the Lobby Lounge plays host to small meetings.
Also available is a luxury spa, Sense of Touch, which has seven private garden treatment rooms; 24-hour fitness center; and 25-meter outdoor swimming pool.
The grand opening of the Hotel with full facilities has been set for December 2012.
Also owned by Sun Hung Kai Properties, the adjoining Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Kowloon East is scheduled for opening this October.

Hmm, thanks for the heads up; I'll be heading there for New Years. Maybe I'll check it out.

I think the hotel is already open and I'll be there on BRG later this month (they haven't adjust the rate to comp yet). It's very cheap that they charge HKD 100 for wifi access (Marriott gives free wifi access to all their members in their Asia Pacific hotels).
