My question also. Was Hualuxe a known brand name they purchased?

I spend quite a bit of time in PRC, and I have never come across a "Hualuxe" brand.

The luxury market is already quite crowded in terms of brands- however presumably some research has been completed on this?

Looks identical (and I mean identical) to the new Crowne Plaza near the airport in Guangzhou. Even the same lamps!

Somehow an idea of a specific hotel for "Chinese traveler" doesn't really appeal to me. Will there be a preference for a Chinese customer as opposed to other people staying in the hotel? Will you have to be Chinese to stay there to begin with? I don't know, but there's something about this Hualuxe (even the hotel's name is Chinese) that doesn't sound right to me.

Interesting to see how this develops.
