Just heard on BBC news that they expect the ash to reach the UK sometime on Tuesday.

:( I'm flying across the pond on Tuesday evening...praying we are not diverted to Europe like last years volcanic activity. Anybody else scheduled to fly over the pond this week?

Apparently the air space has been closed all day over Iceland.
Ash expected to reach Norway tomorrow.

  2. I'm heading for FRA on Friday and on to VIE. Hopefully FRA flights won't be affected.

I'm booked on a LHR-LAX-LHR MR this weekend...having been stuck the last time around, I am definitely concerned!

Hopefully the airspace stays open and good luck to those who are flying TATL in the near future.

Also, keep the EU rules 261/2004 handy, just in case! Found this on the web and it gives a brief overview of passenger rights.

So far- all OK- I am CPH right now and the announcement reads:
"Volcanic eruption in Iceland has no impact on air traffic at Copenhagen Airport with the exception of routes to and from Iceland and Greenland"

Lets hope it stays this way.

@DeltaAssist on twitter also reports, "Currently no operational impact from volcanic eruption in Iceland. We are monitoring & will update if that changes."

    So far so good...

I'm flying YYZ-KEF-OSL return on FI starting on the 5th so this is somewhat worrisome. I looked at the KEF webpage (www.kefairport.is) and it looks like all of the flights got out of town starting in the afternoon today. I figured there might be some disruption on the flights that crossed the supposed ash path, but everything seems to fine at this point. Fingers crossed.

I have no flights through Europe in the near future, which I think is a good thing. Now, if it affects Asia, I'll be in deep crap. :)

Apparently, Scotland airports closed today ( Tuesday ) I leave today and hopefully arrive at LHR Wednesday morning.
The news on BBC is that the ash won't affect LHR traffic until later in the week.

I am now taking the train up to West Scotland on Wed, just in case the ash over Scotland continues.
There was a bad wind storm on the East coast of Scotland Monday, many flights diverted from EDI. A friend had their EDI -- LHR flight delayed by 5+ hours last night.

Ok, had best try and grab a couple of hours sleep here before heading out to the airport at 6:30 AM.
Good Luck to all my fellow travelers over the pond this week.

Doing LHR tonight/tomorrow morning too (6:15p ex-YYZ). Just reaffirms my original belief that Iceland should have been nuked after the last major eruption and financial fiasco to put out of it's miseries. (People moved back to Denmark, of course.) This is an island that should never have been populated and it's volcanic actions should be sealed in for the good of th rest of the planet!

Will try to locate you. I get in from BOS around 4:30p. Summer casual dress this trip. But look out for a black windbreaker with gold Macallan lettering which I will prominently hang over the back of a chair! And a white and yellow FlyerTalk luggage tag on a small black carry-on bag.

Seems the plume is keeping to the northern parts of the continent this time. At least so I'm hoping...

Sitting in the first "inside" seating area by the magazines and newspapers. Working away on a Mac and sipping a Scotch. Going down for my flight about 5:15p.
