An Iberia A320 aircraft has flown from Madrid to Barcelona powered by a mixture of the biofuel oilseed, camelina, and fuel JET A-1 standard.

Iberia said the flight provided savings of about 1,500kgs of CO2 emissions and the A320 did not require modification.

The second-generation biofuels used in the test was made by ASA biokerosene Synthesized paraffin produced by UOP, and Honeywell-evaluated and accredited by Repsol in its Technology Center.
