Iberia said the flight provided savings of about 1,500kgs of CO2 emissions and the A320 did not require modification. The second-generation biofuels used in the test was made by ASA biokerosene Synthesized paraffin produced by UOP, and Honeywell-evaluated and accredited by Repsol in its Technology Center.
Very cool...I'm interested to see how the fuel part of this industry will evolve over the next few years.
