|| IAG Eyes American Airlines Stake ||
Interesting development, we will have to wait where it leads!
This rumor again?
At this point the media just seems to cycle through the same handful of merger/buy in stories every other week. US Airways, IAG, Alaska, JetBlue, repeat.
But yes with regards to AA, it's all wait and see.
It's only time before a reputable news source (perhaps The Onion) will write, "United/Continental Holdings to Purchase Stake in DFW Based American Airlines To Insult City of Houston."
"help cement the U.S. carrier's membership in Oneworld" huh? is there really much serious doubt that even if there were a US/AA tie-up or B6 or whoever, that the resultant entity would remain in OW? I suppose anything could happen but still...
another day another AA merger rumor!
Even US has stated they'd leave *A and move to OW should they nab AA. Which leds me more towards "drumming up drama" than "news worth repeating" for now.
