Does anyone wish there were an app (iPhone or Android) that you haven't been able to find?

In my case, I wish there were an iPhone app to teach European road signs. Last week was my first time to rent a car on the Continent, and I was wishing I had studied all the symbols before I hit the road.

The app might be in the form of a multiple-choice quiz. It could show not only signs, but also painted pavement markings. Also, a photo of a bank of toll booths on a toll road with the question: "Which booth accepts cash and makes change?"

Are there any other apps that should exist, but you haven't found them yet?

I've got more Apps than I can use now. I went through a period for the first three months of owning an iPhone where I downloaded every app I could find and quickly filled up all the available screens.

So I'm OK for now but will be watching this thread with interest to see input from others.

One app for all of the Hilton Hotels? Last time I looked they had one per brand.

Does it matter? I thought you could find/book every HHonors property with each of those apps.

But yeah, I never understood why they created all these branded apps.

Well it mattered to me. I saw that they had one per brand and never downloaded any of them. I'm only me but they got my attention, and then sent me packing without engaging whatsoever...... and our company has a corporate agreement with the Hilton chain (!).

If you want to follow the MLB, MLB's official Android app was pretty good for following last season's games. Not free, though.

"Homerun Battle 3D" by Com2Us is pretty good. I've got the free version on my Android device. I'm pretty sure there's an Apple version, too.

I'd like to see a "How long until sunset?" app.

It would mash up your current position (GPS or cellular), sunrise/sunset tables, and your clock and would simply tell you you had X minutes until sunset. Would be handy for hikers or others.

I wish there was an app that could combine all my FFP-membership cards/information and utilize NFC.

A real United Airlines app that would know who you are and let you check in seamlessly and manage reservations.

It would also be nice if airline tickets utilized NFC. I find it really hard to get the barcode scanner to align with my phone when I use mobile check in.

I often listen to streaming audio with earphones on my iPad at night in bed. It helps me sleep.

Because the Radio Stations are not local, I would like an app that runs in the background and preempts the streaming audio to provide NOAA Weather Radio SAME alerts based on my actual location. I have a weather radio but if I'm asleep with the iPad earphones in, then I might not hear the weather radio.

If I ever get bored, maybe I'll try and write one myself.

    That would seriously rock.
Another I'd like to see (for everyone else) would enable the directional signal in their car via Bluetooth when they are yakking and driving one-handed.

I'm looking for an app (preferably free :) ) to easily move photos from the camera roll to specified albums. As it stands now, it seems I need to go onto my laptop, upload the pics there, manipulate them, then sync everything... What a pain...

Are you talking about albums in iPhoto? I don't know if there is a way you can do this yet. My guess is in the next version of iOS Apple will have the solution as signs are pointing towards more cloud integration.

My dad always complains about how if your phone syncs with Windows (via iTunes) it will only sort your photos into one level of file groups. So if you organize by something like \My Pictures\Photos_Year\Event, It will only group your photos into the folder that covers an entire year.

Yeah, right now when I take a screenshot, the pics always go into the main photo album (or 'camera roll') but if I want to move a pic into another album, there's this whole long process to move it. And , while online albums like Picasa and Shutterfly are nice, they require an Internet connection which I don't always have :( Would be nice to have a copy/paste feature or drag/drop.

Shooters of another kind, those who shoot photographs, would also benefit from such an app.
