    Holiday Inn - Valdosta, GA.

That took some courage to dispense on the internet tubes. Now how about you?

Wedding night in the one of the Penthouse suites at the Rihga Royal Hotel in NYC. We paid for this using "points" from their in-house Restaurant's club, the Halcyon Society. Their deal was great....spend $2,400 on food and beverage in the restaurant and you got a $3,000 a night room for two nights! :) If you really were going to pay to stay, you should have just gone downstairs and ordered an '82 Mouton...and you room would have been covered!

Honeymoon spent at RC-SIN and FS-Kuda Huraa in overwater bungalow. All pretty good!

F and j travel to sin/mle on sq via delta points.

I haven't had my honeymoon yet, but when I stayed at the Bali Hyatt in August last year, they assumed it was my honeymoon and gave me a cake :p

I know where Valdosta is.... :p On another note, not married yet. Hopefully, it won't be at a Red Roof Inn!

I've been to Valdosta, also. They had an incredible HS football program in the 80s/90s, at the very least. One of the top programs in the country at the time.

On topic, spent the wedding night in our hotel in the Chicago 'burbs. Honeymoon was spent in overwater bungalows in Moorea and Bora Bora, followed by a few days visiting relatives and friends in LA/San Diego.

Technically, it was the Omni Hotel in New Haven, CT.

I'd rather claim the following night as the "beginning of the honeymoon" - 5th Avenue Suite at the St. Regis in NYC. "Epic" doesn't even BEGIN to describe it. :D If we'd known before getting there how awesome it was going to be, we should have called all of our NYC friends to come over and have a party.

First night Red Roof Inn Laurel, MD! Next two weeks in various hotels in Belize - first two or three nights Radisson Fort George Hotel: Belize Hotel. To this day we continue to frequent budget hotels at times, such as the $20 night five floor walkup hotel in Hanoi before our First Class Flight home on CX, ending our ten year anniversary trip year before last...

Nothing wrong with a good "positioning stay" before/after an awesome vacation... :)

My wedding night was at the decidedly business-oriented Millenium Hotel in Times Square, prior to heading to a ridiculously nice (and expensive) suite at the Atlantis in the Bahamas. The "budget starts" always seem to make the destination resort seem that much nicer as well. :)

Wedding night at The Roosevelt in New Orleans, only a few months after the renovations. Love that hotel!

Honeymooned a few months later at the Excellence Riviera in Puerto Morelos, Mexico.

If you're in love, does it really matter what the hotel is providing that it's safe and clean? Of course, great rooms in great hotels are fun, but you should be able to enjoy your honeymoon almost anywhere. How much is it worth to have awesome photos to show to others versus your own memories?

Well, wedding night at a B&B in Gettysburg where we got married (if your wedding photos don't have cannons, you aren't really trying!).

Honeymoon spent on a cruise around Greece culminating in a Total Eclipse of the Sun. Unfortunately, Astronomical Tours (who *&@%#) didn't bother to inform anyone that they had to swap to a smaller ship (or stop selling spaces) and we ended up on the couch in my parents' cabin our first night. Pretty sweet, huh?? :)

Oh my goodness. We honeymooned in Freeport. The first day we got such severe sunburns that for the rest of the stay the sounds coming from our honeymoon suite were, "Don't touch me! Don't touch me!"

First night of the proper honeymoon, in separate twin beds in family house in SFO, followed by UA E+ on a TPAC, followed by the SIN Hilton, where they sent us chocolate and a bottle of Champagne. The Three months and 2 Continent trip that followed was kinda a proper honeymoon to make up for the night in SFO though ;)

not at first but most Mrs after awhile expect a bit higher caliber property.:D

Our first night was in some misc hotel near the reception before the advent of the internet, I'm sure things might have been different if I had known then what I know now and we hadn't paid for the whole thing ourselves.

Ha, so true! At first it would be "sweet" but years later if tried it again I'm sure it would you would get a "you want me to stay where?" type of response.

Oh don't even get me started on "if I had known then"... I think I would still be redeeming miles earned from the money we spent on our wedding. :)
