I was doing laundry this morning and while pairing socks I came across a button-holed napkin. I wonder where that came from? ;)

Anyway, it got me googling and after much ado, I really couldn’t find a supplier, but did come across this:

I’ve ordered one and will give it a review.

I too miss the napkins with the button hole - that way I knew which side was up!

I wasn't familiar with this concept of "button-hole napkins", but after reading the most excellent information you have provided a feel more enlightened on the topic. I don't think I'll switch anytime soon, but it sounds like it could have some napkinary benefits.

Not sure I need a nappyholder ... as I am quite clean when I eat - after all I am a cat! :D

Just did 4 segments on UA and they all had button-holed napkins. And yes, I did use the button hole! But I did so all the while lamenting the fact that AC enhanced away their button hole napkins a long time ago.

Mmm, what's to stop you from hand-stitching your own buttonholes? On a whim, I once cross-stitched the AC logo in white embroidery floss on a napkin -- I wonder where it ended up?

I think they're only given to SEs now.

No. Only those who bring their own borrowed ones from earlier times. ;)

Nope. Nope. Noooope. We only have a chance of getting the napkins back if Laundry remembers to check for our monogrammed initials. Not being named Anne Crispin or Angela Carter nor Aspidastra Carrington has, sadly, deprived me of the return of my napkins, whose lovely AC monograms are all to naught.

    I cry now.

UA or rather CO used to have these too as well. ;)

...easy fix...sneak a pair of nail clippers through security, and voila, you can create your own button hole in the napkin.

I have had many coffee stains on my shirt as a result of the lack of button hole napkins.

Don't forget your embroidery needle and white floss -- after all, you'll want to bind the edge of the newly-wrought buttonhole.

Bonus marks for folks who contrive to sew a small white button to the opposite corner of the napkin: that thus affords a means to button the napkin into one of your collar's button-holes. ^_^
