Stayed at the Parispanny/Whippany NJ Hyatt Summerfield Suites this past weekend for one night. $59 for a 1 bedroom. Not bad for essentially a MR while also taking the family out for a meal, visit relatives in the area, and for a free breakfast the next day. :)

As you enter the standard 1 BR suite, there is a mini closet on your left/right, with an ironing board, and an extra pillow/blanket set. Next on the same side is a little desk where there is the old-fashioned internet connection cord (though the hotel does have wireless for Diamonds obviously). Opposite and behind this, is the kitchen which has a breakfast bar with 2 stools, a full size dishwasher, microwave, full size fridge and stove. The counter space is pretty decent and you could cook a full meal for two people there without a problem - plenty of dishes, pots & pans, etc. With the coffee maker & toaster, one could stay here on an extended stay without going without :).

The rest of the main room is the living area, which has an L shaped couch, and an ottoman surrounding a TV cabinet, which has a 32" TV (capable of getting digital signals but try figuring out the TV selection and what channels you can get...this would be my biggest peeve and something to get the Mgr to straighten out if you had to do a long stay here) and a dvd player.

Entering through a double door, to the bedroom, which is relatively small, but still has a king size bed, 2 nightstands & another 32" TV. The channels received here are all low-definition but it is easy to figure out channel selection. The bathroom was a good size, as it also has an outside sink. Problem with a lot of rooms here is some cracking in the plaster by the tub/shower. But all in all, not bad at all and probably bigger than most normal (non-resort) Hyatts. The closet was walk in and contained an ironing board/iron as well as a closet organizer.

The free hot & cold breakfast each morning consisted of french toast, scrambled eggs, and sausage. In addition, at least 5 different types of cereal are offered, 2% and fat free milk, aj and oj, as well as coffee and a soda machine. Yogurt, and some fresh fruit, as well as bread, bagels and English muffins are also offered with a toaster. on top of the free internet access & free parking. M-Th nights the hotel also has a mini-reception with a hot appetizer/mini-meal (similar to what the Hilton at this level offers, believe the hours are 5:30-7pm).

There is a pool on property but it is seasonal (Memorial Day to Labor Day). The gym is small but has everything you need to get in a good workout. There is also a pricey Mini-Mart next to the main desk/check-in area in case you need something (very limited selection - more snacks than meals!). However, there is a local shopping mall minutes down Route 10 if you really want something without paying through the nose

Finally....the staff I met are eager to please. All in all, not bad for a cheap stay. You can do much worse. :)

    Yes.. agreed. :)
    Great report..
They've cut back a bit .. but it's still really pretty good.. esp value wise..
And the help there is very nice & helpful..
    One caveat.. ur a bit/extremely isolated .. so a car is nice/essential! :)

When there was a double-stay promotion, this was one of the hotels I checked into once a week. Went to the room, took the soap and goodies, and left! Without such a promotion, my Diamond days are numbered and I will miss them but we're going out in style with a December stay at the PH Paris Vendome!
