You guys know if its possible to use a Hyatt suite upgrade for someone else on a paid stay? I've got one left that I can't use and I was curious if I could "give it away" so to speak?

Technically no, although some people make a reservation in their own name and add the second person (who will be checking in) as a second name on the reservation. Usually works, but is not how a suite upgrade is supposed to be used, so YMMV.

When making the reservation, be sure to tell them that the other person will be checking in first.

As long as the second name is on the reservation, that name can check in, the second name being what's noted most of the time anyway when you say that.

I once had a problem with that, although it was not at a Hyatt.

Gary, do you know if the person who gifted the suite upgrade will get the stay credit, since technically, the reservation is under their name?

I booked together with my parents a jetBlue getaway package in a Hyatt hotel in mind that I will upgrade with the CC Suite upgrade.

The res is listed on my fathers name, and I called hyatt quite a few times to add my name (said that I will be arriving earlier, was told that only the hotel directly can do it, was transfered and was told it was added to their remarks).

Called on Sat. night to upgrade, was advised that its possible as its a Chase Upgrade, but has to be done with the hotel direct, & as they are closed (at that time) I should call back the res line during business hours.

Called back now, was told can not upgrade as its third party booking and its not in my name.

    Any workaround?

    Third party bookings aren't eligible.
Reservations not in your name aren't eligible.
    Agent is correct.
Still, I suppose that you found an agent earlier who thought you could do it so perhaps hang up call back, I don't know if anyone has succeeded with what you propose but if you add the second name to the res and then add your Hyatt Gold Passport number perhaps it will work if you can find a willing agent.

    Thanks.

My name is only in the remarks.

Will the hotel direct be able to upgrade?

Does anyone know what rates are eligible for Suite Upgrades?

    Are Costco/AAA upgrade-able?

Costco is if you book through Hyatt.com. I'm unclear on rates booked through Costco Travel since they are technically an OTA.
