Hyatt Opens Its First Hotel in Santa Barbara

The 80-year-old Hotel Mar Monte has been transformed into the city's first Hyatt, the Hyatt Santa Barbara.

As part of its new persona, the oceanfront hotel has been getting renovations since February. The hotel has redone 92 of its 171 rooms, lobby, and pool and deck areas.

    ...

In October, the hotel will finish its facelift by tackling the remaining 79 old rooms. The makeover will be complete in 2012. If you want to check out a new room, rates start at about $220 a night.

Well - I guess they are far enough along in their renovation to "officially" flag it a Hyatt - it's been part of Hyatt for about a year or so though (just not labeled as such).
