I tried to use my Diamond Suite Upgrade cert for an upcoming stay but no go at this property. So, I guess I'll redeem points for the stay instead.

Just got back from the HR Danang. Picked the worst time to visit the Central Coast, rainy season. It rains the whole 3 nights we were there...and it hasn't stopped since we left. Other than the rain, this is a very nice property and we will definitely be back during the dry season.

Flights from SGN - DAD was relatively inexpensive, we paid $65/ow last minute on VN. Starting soon, OZ has twice weekly direct flights from ICN.

The taxi ride from the airport was about 180K VND, driver wanted airport fees, so I gave him 200K VND or about $10 USD. Check-in was done in the Regency Club for Diamonds.

Arrival at the hotel, we were escorted to the Regency Club and was offered welcome drinks, carrot juice, not exactly a popular Vietnamese flavor. The property is new, so occupancy is only about 20%.

    Good:
    - Excellent staff, especially the Regency Club employees.
    - Upgraded to a huge suite with ocean view
    - Breakfast in the lounge was adequate, western and asian choices.
    - Happy hours with canapes and drinks in the RC.
    Bad:
    - No Wifi reception in the room
    - Rain in December and probably January too.

Overall, this property has the potential to be a special destination resort in Vietnam. It runs by a very hands on Australian GM. Based from my interaction with the GM, looks like it's going to be a very well run property.

1st pic lobby entrance, 2nd pic the Regency Club, 3rd pic the time share condos for sale, 4th pic lobby, 5th pic suite bathroom, 6th pic view from our balcony

We only had breakfast in the restaurant ($10 surcharge per person for diamonds) and had some lounge food, which was good.

1st pic - french toast with bananas (restaurant), 2nd pic tea set (restaurant), 3rd pic shrimp salad (lounge), 4th pic poached eggs (lounge),

My buddy is moving there in August. His family owns a resort in the area. Very nice looking place. I wonder if this qualifies for nights and stays. :)
