Hyatt Regency Chicago unveils US$90 million refurb:)

The Hyatt Regency Chicago has completed a US$90 million room refurbishment.

The hotel, situated on the Riverwalk downtown and open since 1974, is the largest in Midwest US, with 2,019 rooms and suites.

All have been fully renovated with a contemporary grey and orange colour scheme, Hyatt Grand beds, queen-size beds replacing doubles in the two-bed guestrooms, new carpets and soft furnishings, and elegant, modern bathrooms.:)

Glad they have rennovated- as the hotel needs it. I still personally really dislike the "mega-hotels"- like the Hilton in San Francisco, the Marriott Marquis in New York, and... the Hyatt in Chicago. The personal service is completely lacking (obviously)- perhaps they are good for mega-conventions- however not much else.

I've stayed there a couple of times, while DEFINITELY not the Park Hyatt, it is nonetheless well located for tourist activities and barring a large convention, have good weekend rates... So its good for picking up stays :)
