    So....

Is there supposed to be Toothpaste at Hyatt Place?

I thought so, but there's none in my room tonight. I called down to the front desk. They said I can come down and get it. I said, how about you bring it up, since I'm not dressed. "Sorry Sir, we don't have room service, you can come down and get it." Seems kind of piss poor service, if it should have been provided to start with.

Does anyone know if toothpaste should have been in the room at Hyatt Place?

Yes. The standard Jeff Z announced in Chicago this past March was that all US Hyatt properties would be putting toothpaste back in the rooms. The new standard is not to replace the tube during your stay unless you request a new one. Sounds like you got someone who didn't want to do their job.

By the way, this HP had scrambled eggs and sausages in the skillets, instead of the muffin/croissant/biscuit sandwiches. If that's the new standard at HP, I like that since I don't want to eat all that bread

Pretty sure that's a rotation thing. I've seen both in one stay.

at Hyatt Place NYC and was told that they did not provide Aquafresh and @HyattConcierge said hotels do not have a standard regarding toothpaste brands. I got this IMAG0685.jpg

What an extraordinary statement, supplying toiletries is hardly room service. Presumably if your room needed maintenance they would have told you to come down and get a hammer?

My last few Hyatt stays, well besides my suite upgrades have not had toothpaste. Will be checking on this next stay. :)

I've been hit or miss so far. Probably slightly more hits than misses but this is still not happening perfectly for me, either. I carry a spare tube with me to alleviate the issue.

I've never had toothpaste at a Hyatt Place. Luckily, the other TP was stocked.

Ironically, the last Hyatt Place I stayed at didn't even put body lotion in the rooms. You had to ask for it at the desk. It sounds like the standard - if it exists - is quite variable.

Different properties? I don't believe HP is exempt from the standard but I can check.

Its listed on Hyatt Place's website as part of the HP guest room amenity. Also Tweeted @HyattConcierge who confirmed it should be per website

    Good afternoon!

My apologies for any confusion here. I spoke to our Brand and Operations teams today. Toothpaste is provided in-room for Full Service properties in North America. All other properties have toothpaste on hand, but it is not put in room.

Hope this helps clear up any confusion.

    All my best,

    jz

So everywhere but NA is on a "Ask and you shall receive" at the corporate policy level.

My guess is some hotels go beyond the required, depending on the respective hotel management and also surrounding's competing hotels policies resulting in some (none NA) Hyatt properties choosing to do the whole nine-yards while others prefer to stay with the corporate guidelines.
