Is the bonus only for card holders? Or is it an additional 25% for card holders?

The last column seems to show an additional bonus for Hyatt credit card holders. Paging all non-US GP members...

I think many people were hoping for FFN, but the overall mood was pretty good.. Hyatt also announcing mag swipe membership cards was a cool thing.

People still think its coming back? Did they say what exactly a mag strip will do the only thing I could think of is opening your door, but they are still going to require you to check in.

I think many people know that it's not coming back, but one can always hope ;)

Mag stripe seems to only be for checking-in at this time, but open to future uses.

I think most must have suspected it would be a points based bonus period based on rumours and offerings of their competitors.

Can't say this promo excites me, but then again it has been a long time since any of the promos have. We already have 3 nights booked at Hyatt for the period, won't be going out of our way to do anything extra unless it is a 4 night minimum to qualify for the bonus.

Can't really blame Hyatt for that, though. We all have to make our choices. (I don't have a Hyatt card either. Might get one later this year, but this promo isn't enticing enough to rush it as I don't think I'll have many Hyatt stays during that period).

    Mag strip? Yawn.

    1250 points/night if staying 16 nights.
    Disappointing.
No love for me? No love for Hyatt.
One less chain to check when booking trips.

Total Disappointment! Not good, thought Hyatt does something which makes sense, but once again, Hyatt shows us all that they are not intereted in point bonuses or FFN for their members! Would not recommend to stay with Hyatt at the moment!

Hyatt GP would be good to let us know if FFN are ever going to return and when they will do so. The loss of GX & FFN are truly disappointing. In comparison, Hilton offered many double and triple points promos as well as stays earn free nights promos last year as well.

How could they? Never say never...

(and of course what they tell us they also tell their counterparts at SPG, HHonors, PC, CC, ...)

Is the deal points based on total number of qualifying North American Hyatt nights during this period? or is it encouraging longer stays?

Disappointing, but I guess it's better than nothing at all at this point. Won't go out of my way to stay at a Hyatt though.

Any promotion is always better then nothing, but we have to be able to maximize our benefits as much as possible :D even if it means to stay at other chains ;)

That's pie-in-the-sky. It's like asking a car dealer/manufacturer to tell you when the prices will be lowest and the deals the best. Hyatt will do no more than they have to in order to be profitable. My next post will show how this works for me.

It's obviously not what I hoped for. I'll be losing Diamond status and it will be missed. As a leisure traveler, I have to have promotions to make the math work. But this one can work for me.

Here’s my math. 16 stays x $100/night = $1600. 5 points per night + 30% Diamond bonus = 10,400 points. Add 1,000 per night Diamond bonus = 26,400 points. Add 3 points per dollar on Hyatt Visa for additional 4800 points for a total of 31,200. Add 55,000 promotion points (includes the Visa bonus) for a total of 86,200 GP points or almost 4 nights at any Hyatt plus 16 stays towards requalification. I have a Marriott points reservation at the Ritz Central Park in December. With this promotion, would change it to the Andaz 5th Ave and put all those Marriott points back in my account.

As a leisure traveler who only gets status thru promotions, this is a pretty good deal for me. As others have said, not what we were hoping but good enough for me to bite. Just need to book it all by the end of Feb when I lose status!

Why does booking the reservations before losing status do? Do the hotels still give you all the Diamond benefits, including the extra diamond bonus points when you decline the F&B amenity at check in? I would have thought that especially those extra points would be caught by the computer.

I'm not so sure, pull the trigger and book at weak promotion times and the hotel chains incl. Hyatt and others will know, and of course, one weak after another weak promotion will follow, why? Because you pulled the trigger or followed the carrot for the sake of it, instead chosing a substantial meal eg. better promotions! [ Or letting them know that your loyalty is more worth instead, you are fair game! ]

My bad - I meant book and STAY before my status ran out. The status is worth an additional 1,000 points per night (16,000 total in my example).
