Title says it. Considering a stay at the Park Hyatt Toronto and I can save about $60/night by using an Elite Level Certificate. I have already confirmed availability.

However--- can I then call Hyatt Diamond line an use one of my suite upgrades or is it not possible with a certificate? Thanks.

No, I don't think that will work. You need an eligible rate to use the certificate.

If you rate will no be eligible for using Hyatt Suite upgrade, maybe consider booking via FHR (if you have Amex Platinum Card) and you will receive a complimentary lunch or dinner for 2 and be eligible for using your Suite Upgrade certificate.

Great idea. Losing Diamond status and rates at the hotel are too low to use points. Doing it thru AMEX will get me my breakfast back! Thanks.

AMEX Platinum and Centurion members get to use AMEX FHR - Fine Hotels and Resorts. Always includes Continental Breakfast and often another perk or two. I've actually had them willing to book with a Senior Rate.

Also, Park Hyatt, Toronto is part of The Luxury Hotel & Resort collection: http://explorelhrcollection.com/ which is part of Chase Presidential Plus benefit and alsoincludes breakfast.

And I found out it is also a Virtuoso property and anyone at all can book with a Virtuoso agent. Anyone needing a referral, just PM me. Her name is Laura and she truly goes all out for her clients.

I usually check if the property is part of Virtuoso at www.classictravel.com and Park Hyatt Toronto is not listed there. However, I do not know on how accurate that site is.

I used the Welcome Credit Promotion code "WelCre" (?) to stay at a Hyatt last week.

Stay 2 nights, get $75 credit (probably meant for dining, but can also be applied to your room rate at check out).
I tried to find it online and don't see it now.

This was used in combination with my Diamond Suite upgrade.

I see. No, you have to book via FHR website or Amex Platinum Travel service on a FHR negotiated rate. You can use Diamond Suite upgrade on FHR rate and I used it at Park Hyatt Buenos Aires.

Do not like pre-paid deals. Never know regarding changes in my plans. Thanks for providing the code.

You should double check to make sure that you did not pay twice for your hotel room. This says that it was a prepaid rate, so the whole amount should have been charged when you made the reservation.

Contact a Virtuoso agent and ask for one.
